WELLINGTON (New Zealand) - Superstars Tai Wynyard and Sharne Robati will return to Singapore as they hunt medals for powerhouse New Zealand at the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2024 on March 27-31.

New Zealand have named strong men's and women's squads for the seventh edition of Asia's biggest tournament. The Tall Blacks will be determined to win their first gold having claimed silver in 2022 and bronze last year.

Wynyard will return from last year's team alongside Dom Kelman-Poto and Chris McIntosh, while Nikau McCullough comes into the squad.

After making the Team of the Tournament, the 6ft. 8in (2.03m) Wynyard will be eyeing the MVP as he aims to inspire the Tall Blacks to a first title.

The Tall Blacks will face former champs Qatar and a qualifier in Pool D.

The Tall Ferns, champions in 2018, will welcome back Robati, Lauryn Hippolite and Esra McGoldrick from the silver medal winning team from last year.

Robati was a standout and named to the Team of the Tournament after leading New Zealand on a strong run before falling short to Australia in the final.

Ella Fotu will make her comeback after missing most of last year due to injury.

The Tall Ferns will face an early test in a rematch against Australia, while their other opponent in Pool D will come from the qualifying draw.

For the third straight year, the Asia Cup will be held in Singapore with the action to take place at the OCBC Square at Singapore Sports Hub for the second event in a row.

The qualifying draw will be played on March 27-28.
