#LETSMOVE to celebrate Olympic Day

23 Jun 2023

MIES (Switzerland) - The FIBA global family is backing the call for citizens around the world to be active on Olympic Day and is getting behind the #LetsMove campaign.

On this #OlympicDay, which takes place annually on June 23 the IOC (International Olympic Committee) is inviting the world to celebrate movement, wherever people are and whatever their fitness level.

The positive message is one of trying to encourage as many people to move as much as they possibly can.

Celebrating an active lifestyle is something FIBA strongly encourages and so if you can block the time in your diary to move for 30 minutes - or even less if that is all that is possible, anything involving movement is something to be inspired by.

What about taking a basketball approach and playing a 3x3 pick-up game or joining the legendary Pau Gasol for a workout online? Or you could invite a colleague for a walking meeting, or play hide & seek with your kids or grab a friend to try out jogging or another sport.

As ever, Olympic Day also continues to not only encourage more active lifestyles but also to recognize and rejoice in the power of sport to bring people together. Its ability to both connect and reconnect people locally and globally is one of the key drivers in fostering the wider Olympic values of Excellence, Respect and Friendship.

For anyone looking for some added motivation or the inspiration to get started and to get moving, Olympic Day could prove the ideal time to turn a positive page.

Participants are also being encouraged on Olympic Day to use social media to promote the activities they get involved in and share them with the global community using #LetsMove and #OlympicDay,
