Who are the favorites?

In the men's, the talented youngsters of Egypt will be looking to defend their crown from the first edition three years ago (then played at U18 level) and are favored in Pool A, which also boasts Algeria, Morocco and Zambia.

Their most experienced 3x3 player is Alieeldeen Eldiasty with the 17-year-old tipped for a big future as he hopes to continue Egypt's encouraging run at youth level after the African power split their games at the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup 2022.

Democratic Republic of the Congo and Benin appear set to fight it out for best team in Pool B.

Much like their counterparts, Egypt are favorite in the women's although the No.1 seed didn't win the first edition which went to Mali who aren't in the draw.

They are led by dynamic 17-year-old Maya Sayed, who helped Egypt win 2 of 4 games at the U18 World Cup 2022.

The 6ft (1.83m) teenager might just be her country's next big thing as she aims to show off her talent on the biggest stage in Africa.

Egypt only play Zambia in Pool A, while Democratic Republic of the Congo headline Pool B.
