Poland and Russia perfect through three stops at FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League 2021

SAMORIN (Slovakia) - It was a clean sweep for Poland (women) and Russia (men) through the first three stops of the Europe 1 conference at the FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League 2021. Neither team got a single L in 9 games, setting themselves atop the standings.

On the women’s side Poland, the number three seed, led by the event's top two scorers, Aleksandra Ziemborska and Weronika Papiernik defeated Russia in the Stop 1 final, 19-12, before taking care of business in Stop 2 vs. Germany, 21-14. In the third and final stop, Poland once again bested Russia in the final, 21-17 to stay undefeated.

 

The men’s competition was also one-sided, with Russia posting a perfect 9-0 record over three stops.  Andrey Kiselev, Nikita Padun, and Vladislav Sharapov were all on fire, each scoring at least 39 points over three stops. They defeated Austria and Poland twice in the finals, leaving no doubt that they were the best team in Slovakia.
