DOHA (Qatar) – With the return of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour, we take a closer look at 6 of the top players in the field, all vying to take the top spot in Doha.
Stefan Stojacic (Liman)
No. 1 2-pointers made, No. 2 key assists (tied), and No.3 P-VAL
‘Mr. Robot’ enters the Doha Masters with sky-high expectations. The leading man for Liman took MVP honors at the Debrecen Masters, defeating Utena Uniclub (LTU) in the final. In that game, he got hotter than the human torch, knocking down 2-pointers from corner to corner.
As a matter of fact, Stojacic won 100% of the Masters where he competed this year as he missed the Hungary Masters due to an ankle injury and came back and won the Europe Masters. Can he keep up with this crazy stat in Qatar?
Karlis Lasmanis (Riga)
No.1 double 5s, No. 2 scoring overall, No. 3 rebounder overall, No. 4 in P-VAL
The Latvian is coming off a strong start to the World Tour 2020, earning MVP honors after Riga’s win at the Hungary Masters. Lasmanis, aka ‘Batman’ has played super hero once again, filling the stat sheets and doing it all.
With another World Tour win in mind, the dual-threat is looking to keep the Doha Masters title with Riga, winner of last year’s competition. Without Novi Sad in the field, Riga is the clear favorite to challenge Liman for the title.
Disco Domo (NY Harlem)
No. 1 Drives, No. 2 highlights, No. 8 scoring overall
You better have your shoelaces tied tight, because ‘Disco Domo’ Jones is coming for your ankles. The American leads NY Harlem into Doha as the #9 ranked player in the world, coming off of a lot of success to start the World Tour.
Jones will have to pick up the slack as Joey King and Kidani Brutus will not be in action. Expect the World Tour 2019 regular-season MVP to drive to the hoop, taking on any defender, and finish with style.

Kareem Maddox (Princeton)
No. 4 dunks, No. 5 blocked shots (2019 World Tour)
Princeton makes an appearance at the 2020 World Tour for the first time following a year-long layoff. Maddox, the inside-threat was dominant in last year’s World Tour, winning at his hometown Los Angeles Masters and finishing second at the Utsunomiya Final.
With his return to the World Tour, we are looking forward to seeing the 5th ranked team in the FIBA 3x3 team rankings back in action.
Joshua Munzon (Manila Chooks)
5th place at Doha 2019, 2020 Chooks to Go Pilipinas 3x3 Champion, #1 player in the Philippines
The only other time we have seen Joshua Munzon at the World Tour was at the 2019 Doha Masters. He and his teammates finished in 5th place, setting the stage for his ascension to the top of the 3x3 game. The #1 men’s player in the Philippines was recently crowned champion of the 2020 Chooks to Go Philipinas 3x3 President’s Cup, including scoring the championship-winning bucket.
Heading into his 2020 debut, we can’t wait to see if he can bring a World Tour title back to the Philippines.
Ignas Vaitkus (Utena Uniclub)
No.2 scoring average, No. 2 P-VAL per game (No. 1 for players with more than 2 games played)
In limited action, Ignas Vaitkus was on another level at the Debrecen Masters. Bursting onto the scene, Utena Uniclub has shown the 3x3 world that they are here to stay.
In his World Tour debut, he led all scorers with 41 points and earned a spot on the Team of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour return. The 6ft 6in. (1.97m) sharpshooter has a cat-quick first step and can finish strong at the rim. Is it just us or this guy is already a Top 10 talent on the 3x3 circuit?
