Ukraine and Hungary aim to stay on top in last two stops of FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League Center-East Europe Conference

As we approach the FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League 2019 Final, we set foot in Debrecen, Hungary. Here, on August 29- 30, we will find out which two Women’s and two Men’s teams will stamp their tickets to the final event that will be organised on September 15-16 during the World Urban Games in Budapest, Hungary.

In the Women’s competition, all 4 previous stops were won by a different country, that alone shows you how wide open the tournaments in Debrecen will be. Ukraine (320 points) and Hungary (300 points) are the two top teams in the standings after four stops and have the best papers to qualify. But Czech Republic (280), Poland (270) and Slovakia (265) are breathing in their necks to take one of these two spots, with only 55 points separating the #1 from the #5.

Ukraine is also on top of the standings in the Men’s competition, by winning two of the four previous stops. With 350 points they have created a bit of distance between them and the rest of the teams, but they are definitely not safe yet. Hungary (300), Poland (290) and Romania (290) are within striking distance for that top spot and have legitimate shots at qualifying for the U23 Nations League 2019 Finals.

The city of Debrecen once again proves its passion for 3x3 by hosting four international 3x3 events in one week! Besides the U23 Nations League, the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series and the FIBA 3x3 World are part of the festivities. The week is capped off by the much anticipated FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2019 from August 30 to September 1.
