Who will challenge Russia’s title defense at the FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup 2019?

LANZHOU - (FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup 2019) – Russia achieved an incredible double in the first edition of the FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup in 2018. Here are the 38 teams who will stand in the way of a repeat next year.

Four teams were already given a ticket to China on October 2-6, 2019: the 2 Russian teams as reigning champs and the 2 Chinese teams as hosts. The other teams clinched their spot based on their position in the FIBA 3x3 Federation Ranking

Only 7 countries will send both their men’s and women’s U23 national team to China this year: China, Italy, Mongolia, Netherlands, Romania, Russia and Ukraine.

Last year's runner-ups Latvia's men and Japan's women are back in 2019. A total of 10 new nations will make their debut at the competition, including USA, who have never won a 3x3 world title with the men in any age category (U18, U23, senior).

Men: Argentina, Brazil, China (hosts), Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Qatar, Romania, Russia (reigning champs), Serbia, Slovenia, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine, USA.

Women: Belarus, China (hosts), Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Mongolia, Netherlands, Romania, Russia (reigning champs), Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine.
