Europe Cup reigning champs Latvia to compete in France Qualifier

POITIERS (FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2018) - Twenty one teams from 18 countries will compete in the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup France Qualifier 2018 on June 29-30.

The teams were allocated to the various qualifiers based on the world’s FIBA 3x3 Federation Ranking. 

3x3 Europe Cup 2017 winners Latvia will meet familiar faces in Poitiers, including World Cup 2017 bronze medalists France, whom they defeated in their title run in Amsterdam last year.

In the women's category, the two finalists of the 3x3 World Cup 2016 - Czech Republic and Ukraine - will be the favorites to get the 4 tickets to Bucharest.

Participating teams:

Men: Russia, Latvia, Estonia, France, Italy, Turkey, Slovakia, Belarus, Belgium, Montenegro, Denmark & Israel.

Women: Czech Republic, France, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, Belarus, Turkey, Ireland & Sweden.

It's the third consecutive time that France host a Europe Cup Qualifier.

The 12 men's teams will be divided into 4 pools of 3 teams while in the women's competition, the 9 teams will be split in 1 pool of 4 teams and another one of 5 and seeded automatically based on the April 1, 2018 3x3 Federation Ranking.

All teams play every other in their respective pools. In the men's category, the 2 first teams from each pool advance to the quarter-finals. The quarter-final winning teams are qualified for the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2018. In the women's category, the winner of each pool is directly qualified for the 3x3 Europe Cup. The 2nd and 3rd placed teams will play against  the 2nd and 3rd teams from the other pool. Winners from those games are qualified for the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup.
