3x3 star Dragovic to miss season start

ZEMUN (FIBA 3x3 World Tour) - FIBA 3x3 World Tour Bloomage Beijing Final 2017 MVP Bogdan Dragovic will be out for at least 3 months after tearing the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee.

Five months after scoring the craziest shot in World Tour history, the number 6 player in the world contracted the injury in practice.

Despite missing their star player, reigning World Tour champs Zemun (SRB) still managed to earn a ticket to the Saskatoon Masters by finishing second at the Goyang Challenger last weekend.

"Probably there is no need for surgery but my recovery will take 3 months in the best case scenario," the 27-year-old said.

"But it could also take more time... Even though I got a lot of support from my family and friends, this is the toughest time in my career. I just hope I can be back in time for the World Tour."

The FIBA 3x3 World Tour starts in Saskatoon, Canada on July 21-22 this year.

Zemun have already clinched a spot in 4 Masters: Saskatoon, Utsunomiya, Lausanne and Kuala Lumpur.
