Stojacic named FIBA 3x3 World Tour Regular Season MVP
28 Oct 2017
BEIJING (FIBA 3x3 World Tour) - Team Liman (SRB) star Stefan Stojacic was awarded the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Regular season MVP award in Beijing, China on October 28 2017.
The 28-year-old was the MVP of the Debrecen Masters and led the youngest team at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final to 2 Masters trophies (in Debrecen and Mexico City).
The Serbian star scored 14 points in the final against Zemun Master at the Mexico City Masters, won the Shoot-Out Contest at the Saskatoon Masters and made his presence known in the Top 5 of the Utsunomiya Masters with a sick ridiculous ankle-breaker.
He was key to Liman's third-place run in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour regular season standings. The young Serbian squad was the only team who managed to qualify to 4 different Masters without benefiting from an automatic qualification based on their ranking last year.
Besides their wins in Debrecen and Mexico City, they also finished 3rd in Utsunomiya (competing with just 3 players) and 5th in Saskatoon.
Stojacic ranked 2nd in points per game in the regular season (for players competing in at least 10 games), behind Michael Hicks (Krakow R8 Basket) and 4th overall in total points scored.
FIBA 1st Vice-President Hamane Niang handed out the trophy to the 6ft 4in (1.92m) sharpshooter before the opening game of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Bloomage Beijing Final.
