YAOUNDE (FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2017) – Cameroon have named a star-studded four-member team to compete at the upcoming FIBA 3x3 World Cup from June 17-21 in Nantes, France.

Priscilla Laure Mbiandja will lead the cast that also has Portugal-based Ramses Lonlack, Larissa Marie Claire Mbong Nkoumou and Maeva Dongmo Teinkela who plies her trade in USA.

Speaking exclusively to FIBA.com, Lonlack said, "This is a dream come true for me. Playing at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup has been my dream. After this competition, I can check this off my list."

"It is always a privilege to represent your country no matter what competition it is. I am blessed to be able to do this and once again in Nantes, France."

Lonlack featured on the Cameroon team at the 2016 FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Nantes on 13-19 June 2016

Just like any other player across the world, Lonlack and her teammates will be looking to make their mark at this event and actually go on to win the trophy in their debut appearance.

"As a team we will be ready to play every game like a championship and to compete at the highest level. Like any other team, we want to win this FIBA 3x3 World Cup. We will do everything we can to put ourselves in the best position", the 28-year old explained.

Lonlack, who plays for Quinta Dos Lombos in Liga Feminina 1 in Portugal, was introduced to the shorter version of the hoops game last year while playing in the US.

When she won the Dallas stop of the DewNBA 3x3 tournament and finished second in the Final, she made up her mind that she was cut out for this and set her dreams in the sky.

"The more I won, the more I loved the game," she said about her passion for 3x3 basketball, a love that is less than a year old and she is heading to the FIBA 3x3 World Cup already.

"I played at the Pre Olympic last summer and I tested a little bit of Olympic caliber. Now this will be the World Cup! We are talking about World Cup, a level where all athletes dream to be and to show off to the world what they are capable of,” she pointed out.

Lonlack and her teammates have already made preparation plans even though they are still with their clubs.

"Each of them is getting ready for this competition. This FIBA 3x3 World Cup is a big one, not just for us (Cameroon) but for the entire African continent to be able to show up and perform well,” the Bertoua native said.

She also hopes that competing in France this June will help promote and create awareness about 3x3 basketball.

"It is not that popular right now on our continent but it will be really soon! I personally trained myself and staying ready until the moment we all enter in training camp," she added.

Cameroon are seeded in Pool D at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2017, along with reigning world champions Czech Republic and Italy, Argentina and fellow debutants Bahrain.
