RIO DE JANEIRO (3x3) - In three weeks' time, Sao Paulo will host the first of five World Tours. Last weekend, Rio de Janeiro was at centre stage with the Brazilian Basketball Federation (CBB) organising the 'Etapa Carioca' tournament.

There were a total of 37 participating teams and the winning group 'Jacarepagua' qualified for the following tournament in Rio de Janeiro set to take place on 7-8 July.

Three teams will automatically qualify from that event to the Sao Paulo 3x3 World Tour Masters in mid-July.

CBB President Carlos Nunes praised the overall mobilisation and looks forward to seeing more events take place throughout the country.

"Brazil is more than ready and excited to host the first-ever 3x3 World Tour Master," said Paulo Villas Boas, CBB's Director of Institutional Relations.

The Brazilian Federation is currently making the final preparations for the grand FIBA 3x3 season opener and they aim to keep developing the innovative sport at an astonishing speed.
